Job charts

So faIn the past I have done job charts for the boys, but i failed to remember to get the coins necesary for them to be paid as I used to pay them per job. (see below for what job charts used to look like).

I have changed them now so that instead of being paid in money, they get points eg 15 points for feeding one of the animals, 5 points for making there beds etc. They then get to choose a reward for certain number of points.

So far it is working well, as you can see by the ticks and also by the points accumulated (the bottom of the page) that Josh is already at one of the higher level rewards (25 points is a daily reward if they choose to use them which so far they haven't used and I am considering taking away anyway as I am not sure if it is completely fair to them).

I will keep you updated on progress and I am thinking the bug rewards will either be used in the evenings when we have time or on the weekends.

Gluten Free, Dairy Free Quieche

So, I have been missing for awhile and it is partly to do with me being too lazy to get on and some was  due to nothing interesting happening (or so it seemed to me).
I am back because I have had to make certain changes (some I needed to make eg dietary changes and some I chose to make eg job charts for the boys).

One of the changes I have made is a dietary. I have eliminated diary, gluten and peanuts from my diet as I have been medically diagnosed IBS (Irritable Bowl Syndrome) which seems to be caused by foods with gluten, dairy and/or peanuts in them.
Most of the meals are either already gluten and dairy free or I have just changed the ingredients to make them that way. As I try new recipes I will tell you how it goes and what I could change.

Last night I made quiche. Here is the recipe.

Ingredients
4 eggs
2 cups soy milk (or other non dairy milk will do)
1/3 cup gluten free self-raising flour
about 3-4 cups frozen mixed veg (had no bacon)
1/2 cup grated Magic Vegan Cheese (http://magicjelly.com.au/blog/2011/11/magic-vegan-cheese/)
Salt and pepper to taste

Method
Preheat oven to 200C
Beat eggs in a bowl and add milk and salt and pepper.
Add the frozen mixed vegetables and grated cheese and then mix thoroughly. Then add flour and mix through.
Oil the quiche tin and then lay the dry Ingredients in the bottom and then pour the milk and egg mixture over the top and cover the dry Ingredients.
Put in oven for about 40 minutes or until golden brown.

This is based on my version I used to use prior to going dairy and gluten free.

It needed a little more salt but other then that it was nice, not as chessy as normal so I might add some Savoury Yeast Flakes next time as it will give it more of a cheesy taste.
