Once all this is done I will then go onto de-cluttering the zone of the week, which is the lounge room. Were do I get information about zones and de-cluttering? From the Flylady. I have known about the Flylady for about 5 years now but have struggled with routines as i have never been able to find the right routine, so hopefully this idea works.

Scraps

I have organised the kitchen scraps into 3 containers (at the moment). One for chooks, one for the vegie scraps to make vegie stock (or any other stock that is needed) and one for fruit scraps (for chooks and/or worms, depending on what is needed at the time).

Mini Olympics

It was a hectic day yesterday. First it was a race to get out the door and to kinder and school on time, then on the way to kinder we ran out of gas (thank God for petrol) so we made it to the petrol station before kinder on petrol. Needless to say we got to school and kinder late. We stayed at school as Josh was doing Mini Olympics at school.

Once that was done I went to do groceries and then was dancing for the boys at 5.15pm and for me at 7.15pm. Got tap shoes for the boys from the dance school also.

more knitting

Yesterday was a church day, so went to church and I ran the Kids Church as usual and then we went to Mum's for lunch (a monthly thing). We came home for a bit and then I had a leadership meeting. Not much happened really but I got more knitting done which is a plus.

Today is grocery shopping day and then we (me and the boys) also have dancing. Not sure what else I will get done as I am normally beat after doing kinder and school drop off, groceries and then kinder and school pick up.

Knitting so far, but I found a slipped stitch:-(
Slipped stitch in about 10 rows :-( And I made the mistake of pulling it and made the stitch come out of 4 rows before this one :-(

Gardening and knitting

Today was relaxing but also busy, I relaxed for the morning knitting and then after lunch I went out and sorted out what was left of my worms and fed them. I then went and fixed up my compost bins (they had fallen over so had to pick them up and put the compost back in them).

Once that had been done I relaxed and knitted for the rest of the day. I am know up to the part of adding a stripe in the middle of the dish cloth if I want, not sure if I will. I will make that decision tomorrow when I take the knitting up again.

How much I have done so far on my dishcloth. Halfway there.

Knitting and other things

So far, with my knitting I have gotten frustrated because I couldnt figure out why my stitches were falling apart after casting on and then started knitting. That was until I looked over the video tutorial on how to cast on, that is when I realised I missed one crucial step (the last step that makes the stitches stay together). Now they are fine and i am finding a lot easier.
When I got up this morning I found my knitting unravelled, so I got it back up to were I was last night.

I also went out to check on my worms (havent checked them for a long time) only to find they are all either dead or escaped, so I know what I will buying as soon as I can.

While tea was on I cleaned out some cupboards which desperately needed doing, so know I am happy with that.

Today I hope to get out in the garden to sort out my compost bins and also pick up the dog faeces (which I will feed to the last few worms I have).

My adventures

Sorry blog is so late, was out all day yesterday so didn't have time to do a post. Need to organise on days like that to do more then one blog the day before so not rushed on other days.

Anyway, yesterday was dress up day for Sam at kinder and he went as Wally (from the Were's Wally books)
Sam all dressed up

The other thing I have done today is spend some time in the laundry. I have been following Organised Home Challenges, which helps me to get more motivated lol.

While I was out yesterday I got some supplies for Kids Church and I also got some Bamboo Cotton from Spotlight to knit some dishcloths.

And no soap until after Monday (probably not until Wednesday night as will be out Monday and Tuesday nights) so stay tuned on those days for soap pictures.

Stay tuned tomorrow for updates on how my knitting is going.

Today was a relaxing day, no organizing today.

For tea tonight we had tuna pasta bake with vegetables.

Organizing cupboards

I got the kitchen cupboard and the laundry cupboards sorted.

I also got the pumice powder I ordered off eBay to make soaps for my husband as he is a dairy farmer and needs a soap that is rough. I am thinking of also adding some poppy seeds to make a bit scrubber. That will be tonights project. Stay tuned for pictures in tomorrow's blog.

Pantry clean out & stockpiling

Yesterday I decided to finally sort out my pantry as there was absolutely no order to it at all, as you can see from the pictures below.
What was on the top shelf (forgot to take picture sooner)

I also sorted the cupboard next to the pantry (was kind of the junk cupboard) so I could turn it into my stockpile cupboard.

Once I had done that I was happy to do a grocery list and go shopping and I also got some stuff for my stockpile.

Today my plan is to finish the rest of the kitchen (stay tuned tomorrow for after pics) and then find a place for my laundry and/or bathroom/rest of house stockpile and hopefully sort out as much of my cleaning kits as possible.

Chicken stock

Last night we had chicken roast for tea, so I decided to try to make my own chicken stock and hopefully I will have enough ice cube trays to hold it in small quantities.

Tonight we will be having leftover chicken from the roast as a chicken stir fry. Might even use some of my homemade chicken stock with it. Groceries also need to be done and I may even try to tackle the kitchen (decluttering and sorting out some space to make a stockpiling cupboard if possible) while I am in the kitchen after putting the groceries away.

Slowly but surely

I have a plan for today to go through the boys clothes cupboards so that they can start putting their own clothes away again. This time I will start by getting them to help me to put them away and will monitor their progress until I think they are ready to progress to the next step (putting them away all by themselves with supervision) and so on.

Michael's cupboard before

Obviously, Josh's cupboard is a little bare (due to lack of washing been done over the last week as we have all had the flu) but he definantly has an abundance of clothes. The clothes in these cupboards are home clothes (we live in the country so they might be stained or faded or just not as good as the going out clothes).

I have also finished my book. I will go through it (as I highlighted certain parts) and make a list of what steps I want to take and then will slowly go through the list.

Back again

Yesterday while Josh was at school and Sam was at kinder Darrel, Michael and myself took a trip to Warrnambool. While in there I got myself some more moulds for soap making and Rhonda Hetzels book Down to Earth.

So today I am sitting back and relaxing in front of the fire while I relax and reading my new book and am finding it interesting, but at the same time am finding it difficult not to jump up and buy the materials I need for certain things I want to do out of this book. All in good time, first I will read it and slowly start trying new things. One of the first new things I will try will be knitting dishcloths and socks.

In the meantime I am waiting on some pumice powder I ordered on eBay to make some soap for Darrel and I would like to make some for our everyday use but not sure what to put in it, will look around and see what I can think of.
