Organizing cupboards

I got the kitchen cupboard and the laundry cupboards sorted.

I also got the pumice powder I ordered off eBay to make soaps for my husband as he is a dairy farmer and needs a soap that is rough. I am thinking of also adding some poppy seeds to make a bit scrubber. That will be tonights project. Stay tuned for pictures in tomorrow's blog.

Pantry clean out & stockpiling

Yesterday I decided to finally sort out my pantry as there was absolutely no order to it at all, as you can see from the pictures below.

I also sorted the cupboard next to the pantry (was kind of the junk cupboard) so I could turn it into my stockpile cupboard.

Once I had done that I was happy to do a grocery list and go shopping and I also got some stuff for my stockpile.

Today my plan is to finish the rest of the kitchen (stay tuned tomorrow for after pics) and then find a place for my laundry and/or bathroom/rest of house stockpile and hopefully sort out as much of my cleaning kits as possible.

Chicken stock

Last night we had chicken roast for tea, so I decided to try to make my own chicken stock and hopefully I will have enough ice cube trays to hold it in small quantities.

Tonight we will be having leftover chicken from the roast as a chicken stir fry. Might even use some of my homemade chicken stock with it. Groceries also need to be done and I may even try to tackle the kitchen (decluttering and sorting out some space to make a stockpiling cupboard if possible) while I am in the kitchen after putting the groceries away.

Slowly but surely

I have a plan for today to go through the boys clothes cupboards so that they can start putting their own clothes away again. This time I will start by getting them to help me to put them away and will monitor their progress until I think they are ready to progress to the next step (putting them away all by themselves with supervision) and so on.

Obviously, Josh's cupboard is a little bare (due to lack of washing been done over the last week as we have all had the flu) but he definantly has an abundance of clothes. The clothes in these cupboards are home clothes (we live in the country so they might be stained or faded or just not as good as the going out clothes).

I have also finished my book. I will go through it (as I highlighted certain parts) and make a list of what steps I want to take and then will slowly go through the list.

Back again

Yesterday while Josh was at school and Sam was at kinder Darrel, Michael and myself took a trip to Warrnambool. While in there I got myself some more moulds for soap making and Rhonda Hetzels book Down to Earth.

So today I am sitting back and relaxing in front of the fire while I relax and reading my new book and am finding it interesting, but at the same time am finding it difficult not to jump up and buy the materials I need for certain things I want to do out of this book. All in good time, first I will read it and slowly start trying new things. One of the first new things I will try will be knitting dishcloths and socks.

In the meantime I am waiting on some pumice powder I ordered on eBay to make some soap for Darrel and I would like to make some for our everyday use but not sure what to put in it, will look around and see what I can think of.
